I was born and have lived most of my life in Brisbane Queensland, Australia.
I have always been around firearms, both my grandfathers were champion shooters. My father was a casual shooter who bought me my first air rifle when I was about 8 yeas old, this was followed by a lovely BRNO .22 when I was 10. So many great memories are formed by those two very simple and small caliber rifles, from many range visits to playful target practice in the garage (air rifle).
Of course, I (we) moved into bigger calibers and longer ranges over the years, but the passion for shooting is still strong. Dad is still around, in his 80’s now but he will still have a shoot with me when the opportunity presents on our property out in western Queensland.
But it isn’t just the shooting, I love the form, the precision and craftsmanship that goes into firearms. Some almost have a soul, many at least have a story.
It is because of the above and my passion for this sport I moved to start my own dealership, this in itself is a hard slog to get started, but despite the hurdles, OzArms was born in 2017.
OzArms was the first online firearms marketplace that offered auction facilities, allowing sellers and buyers the opportunity to buy and sell firearms and associated equipment without having one set price (although this option was also available).
As the industry is evolving and the world is changing post COVID, we have decided to move away from the auction model and instead focus on a user controllable model for the marketplace.
Now, with the new website, sellers not only have the option to list a single / one off item, set their price and sell a the buyer, but also dealers and larger sellers have the option for their own shop that they can manage themselves with full control from the backend.
This option is unique to OzArms.
For both sellers and buyers, the new site offers an easy to use and intuitive interface. We embrace change and hopefully users enjoy the new site. We are always open to ideas and suggestions, so please feel free to provide any feedback directly to me.
